Magnificat!

University Choir, The 24 and the University Baroque Ensemble join forces for a festive musical celebration in Central Hall, conducted by Sarah Latto, the Co-Artistic Director of the vocal ensemble Echo and former member of Genesis Sixteen. The centrepiece of the performance is Bach's Magnificat, celebrating the 300th anniversary of its first performance in Leipzig in 1723. This is contrasted by the beauty and intimacy of Chiara Cozzolani's Magnificat of 1650, sung by The 24, and the shimmering pastoral sounds of Schiassi's Concerto in D. Expect festive refreshments, carols and an evening of stunning music-making!
