Nature Echo

After its sold-out London premiere at LSO St Luke’s last year, trailblazing artist collective Tangram brings their groundbreaking production Nature Echo to York. Praised for its ‘highly imaginative presentations and truly limitless virtuosity’ (I CARE IF YOU LISTEN), Nature Echo traces a journey navigating the fragile and destructive relationship between humans and our environment, featuring guest director and performance artist Echo Morgan.

Bringing together contemporary music from across four continents, Nature Echo offers a powerful reflection on the global issue of climate change. Experience the visceral sounds of plastic alongside Chinese and Western instruments, as well as evocations of disappearing whalesong and bioluminescence. This special programme features music by Liza Lim, George Crumb, Chen Yi, Alex Ho and Sun Keting, vividly brought to life by Echo Morgan’s live-action painting and design.

‘An aural emblem of understanding and resolution across cultures’ (The Stage)

‘Powerfully theatrical … unexpected and refreshing’ (Tempo)
