The Shepherd Group Brass Band has been making music in North Yorkshire since 1903. Back then it was under the name of the Rowntree Cocoa Works Brass Band. Today it is supported by the Shepherd family and other York businesses. The Band has securely placed itself as one of the North East of England’s leading brass bands. It has become a regular name on the contesting platform, winning acclaim and trophies for its performances and forging a reputation as one of the North’s most popular ensembles thanks to its engaging concerts and innovative projects.

The award-winning Brass Band returns to YorkConcerts to present a programme covering an eclectic mix of musical genres, ranging from light opera and established classical repertoire to modern classics and musical theatre. The performance will also include substantial original works for brass and showcase some of the Band’s superb soloists. We do hope you can join us for what promises to be a truly unforgettable concert by one of the region’s premier brass bands!
