The Chimera Ensemble, the Uk's largest student-run contemporary music ensemble, presents the first of their two concerts in this year's York New Music Weekend, featuring new works by student composers at the University, as well as by York alumna Anna Meredith. Based on the theme of expressing the visual, the programme weaves its way from mirrors to luminosity and the nature of bells. The concert explores colour and texture, featuring an unconventional use of fabric, amplification and distortion. The concert concludes with a reflective piece by Pauline Oliveros.
Ticket holders will be able to watch this concert on demand for three weeks after the initial broadcast.
