Brahms Sonatensatz FAE
Brahms Sonata No 3 in D minor op. 108
Lili Boulanger Nocturne for violin and piano
Franck Sonata in A major
We are delighted to welcome Tasmin Little for her final concert in the north of England after she decided to postpone her retirement following the cancellation of concerts, including one here, earlier in the year. She is firmly established as one of today’s most popular and charismatic international violinists. Her multi-award winning and varied career encompasses concerto and recital performances, masterclasses, workshops and community outreach work as well as an extensive CD catalogue. Piers Lane, her regular duo partner, is equally at home in the concerto and chamber music repertoire. Her programme - revised for the current times - is built around the sonata by Brahms - a work full of drama - and includes Lili Boulanger's exquisite Nocture, written when she was 17, finishing with one of the most popular works in the violin and piano repertoire.
