Covid-19 information

Keeping our audiences safe

We have introduced a range of measures to keep you safe while attending our concerts. These are in line with current Government advice for indoor performances, and we will keep them under constant review as the situation develops. If you are attending our concerts, please help us to keep our audiences, performers and staff safe by adhering to the following requirements:

  • stay at home if you have any of the main symptoms of Covid-19: a high temperature, a new, continuous cough or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste;
  • wear a face covering at all times unless exempt;
  • use hand sanitiser on arrival;
  • maintain social distancing at all times.

Booking and cancellation

All tickets must be purchased in advance and will be sent to you via email or post. For tickets sent by email, please either print your tickets at home or show us on your phone. If the event is cancelled for any reason, you are entitled to a full refund, and we will contact you to process your refund as soon as possible. We are also offering a full refund to anyone who books but is subsequently unable to attend due to illness.

Seating

Our live concerts this summer will take place at the National Centre of Early Music and St Lawrence Church, Hull Road. All seating will be socially distanced and in blocks of two. You may book a block of two for one or two people; you will only be charged for the number of tickets you book.

Arrival

We will open the doors 30 mins before each performance to allow time for staggered arrival and to avoid large queues. On arrival, we will ask you to use hand sanitiser and to scan (check-in) the NHS QR code posters via the NHS Covid-19 app. We will also check your temperature using a non-contact infraed thermometer. Tickets will be checked at a distance, and our stewards will direct you to your allocated seats. We will ask you to follow the one-way systems and observe social distancing at all times.

Timings

The doors will open 30 minutes before both performances. Each performance will last approximately one hour with no interval.

Food and Drink

We will not be serving food and drink at any of our concerts this summer.

Face Coverings

Unless you are exempt, you will be asked to wear a face covering at all times while attending our concerts.

Toilets

At the National Centre of Early Music, toilets are now limited to one person per set of toilets, so please be aware that there may be queues as a result.

Please note that there will be no toilet facilities available at St Lawrence Church.

Test and Trace

If you have any symptoms of Covid-19 or have been in direct contact with a diagnosed individual in the last 14 days and have been advised to self-isolate, then you must not attend the event. When booking, we will ask for your contact details including your mobile number which may be passed on to the test and trace scheme if required. On arrival, we will ask you to scan (check-in) the NHS QR code posters via the NHS Covid-19 app to help support contact tracing.

Parking

There are a number of car parks nearby the National Centre for Early Music but space can be limited so please allow enough time to park.

At St Lawrence Church, parking is available adjacent to the church via the track from the A1079.

Ticketing Policy

If you are unable to attend due to illness or due to your Covid-19 restrictions, please contact us at boxoffice@york.ac.uk to arrange a ticket transfer or refund.
