The UJO welcomes trombonist Malcolm Earle-Smith as its guest soloist.  A  multi-faceted jazz musician,  Malcolm is not only widely  respected in the fields of classic jazz and swing,  but also a very accomplished  improviser in bop and  more contemporary idioms.  His broad musical approach has enabled him  to perform with  a variety of artists including Kenny Baker,  Liam Noble and Bryan Ferry,  as well as developing a  distinctive voice of his own.

The band plays pieces by two of its members - Vicente Magalhaes, Carlo Estolano - as well as arrangements of standards and original tunes by its director, the acclaimed composer and bandleader John Warren.
