Celebrating one of the most important and radical composers in history, the Debussy Mirrored Ensemble takes Debussy’s music as a starting point and transforms it using the skills of a hand-picked stellar team of musicians. Representing the cream of the classical, jazz and improvising disciplines, and with the vocal virtuosity of James Gilchrist and Brigitte Beraha at centre stage, Eddie Parker’s Debussy Mirrored Ensemble conjures new and unexpected magic from Debussy’s music, creating a unique and totally absorbing world.
Eddie, a York alumnus, has been central to some of the most important Jazz in recent decades. He is a founder member of UK Jazz Big Band Loose Tubes, contributing many important compositions to their repertoire. He performed and recorded with Bheki Mseleku, the legendary South African jazz master, and continues to record and perform with South African jazz artists Afrika Mkhize and Nduduzo Makathini. He also performs with and writes for the Will Gregory Moog Ensemble, and runs his own small groups.
